Home Theatre Star Ceiling - UV Reactive XVR Stars with Realism
The Worlds Most Effective Theater Stars!
Hi, If you are looking at setting up a DIY home theatre star ceiling but don’t want to use ineffective fibre optics or LED’s then you are at the right place. My UV-R theatre stars provide a star ceiling solution that is super simple to install, costs far less than fibre optics or LED’s and provides actual realism! No other home theatre star ceiling system will be as effective or user friendly as my XVR-980T home theatre star kit.
New Star Ceiling Technology for Home Theaters.
For the past several decades fibre optics have been the only method of achieving an indoor night sky effect in a setting that has interfering light. Home or commercial theaters, clubs, bars, exhibitions etc. This method has only been used as there has been nothing else but in no way has it ever provided an effective solution. The realism factor is close to zero and this is simply due to the light points being far to uniform which is no surprise as every fiber transfers light from the identical source, a very primitive idea.
My XVR theater stars are finally a true solution to this problem as they not only provide high realism in any low lit environment but are also incredibly simple to setup. As with my bedroom glow in the dark stars the UV theater stars need to provide high levels of true variation in that the individual light points must not be uniform like fiber optics or LED’s. My theater stars provide true variation in both visual size and brightness intensity because they are intricately controlled at the production level. Because this performance has been determined at the point of production when you install your theater stars they will all work perfectly together to create a truly varied star ceiling effect and the only effect in the world to portray actual realism.
My theatre stars will blow away both fibre optics and LED’s by an astronomical amount no pun intended.
Effective DIY Theatre Room Star Ceiling.
When it comes to attempting a star ceiling project at a media room level one of the greatest hurdles is the install itself. It will not matter if you buy some poor quality cheap fibre optic or LED star kit or the best and most expensive as both will fail in realism and both will be a complex nitemare to install. You also get a highly limited star ceiling density because the foundation of the star ceiling is so unsuited to the purpose. To clarify this the purpose of most of the individual light points (Faint to Mid range stars) is to provide very precise low level light and they are more important than the bright range stars.
With fiber optics and LED’s it is such a complex process to achieve just one single light point and this is due to the install complexity involved so the quantity of light points for a given star ceiling is normally limited. Every one of these light points needs it’s own physical connection to either a power source or light source and this in itself is a giant failure. In many cases it is not only difficult to install each light point but may also be impossible due to many different ceiling constraints and this further reduces the level of already non existent realism.
With my XVR theatre stars you simply slide the next star into position off the multi-row star strip and go to the next star literally in a couple of seconds so high star density is easily achieved. You also have full freedom of star placement so there are no missing sections of stars thruout the star field which maintains a very high level of realism. The fact that you can simply slide one of my high tech stars into position with a simple slide of the finger will be easily taken for granted but to obtain this result has been the ongoing development and testing of more than 7 years.
Best Value to Realism Ratio of any Theatre Star Ceiling Product.
When you look at the cost of my theatre star kit plus say two UV drivers the total cost is maybe a little higher than a non realistic fiber optic star kit but of-coarse with fibre optics or LED’s the purchase cost is small in comparison with the cost of install. Pre-made fiber optic or LED panels are a perfect example as you will pay a true premium for a 4×8 foot pre-made star ceiling panel as the complexity of setting up the few light points takes a lot of labour.
My XVR-980T star kit will make a high density and high realism star ceiling over an area twice as large as one of those pre-made 4×8 foot panels and at a far lower cost. So if you consider the theatre star kit will cost $270 plus around $60 for two UV drivers and this will create a very impressive 6SQM or 60 square foot star ceiling. It would cost you around $2000 for two pre-made fibre optic panels for the same area and guess what you still don’t get realism.
Also the install would take you around 60 to 90 minutes for one of my star kits not including the UV drivers install done by your electrician but the complexity in setting up fibre optics or LED’s is simply a nightmare. Even with the pre-made panels you still have to mount the giant heavy things in some way and with a cheap fibre optic star kits you can expect to enjoy many difficult days of glue sniffing in the ceiling cavity doing your complex nitemare install and again end up with little to no realism.
With my XVR theater stars there is no special ceiling requirement other than having a smooth dust free ceiling surface for the stars to grip and the UV drivers are just wall mounted so you do not require any ceiling access whatsoever.
Low Light Capability
So here my early test panels are on the tile floor in my office and the outside daylight is starting to wash into the room yet the theatre stars are not drowning out. This has been the greatest hurdle to overcome as with my countless past attempts the stars would always wash out and even with far less interfering light than this. This is something my bedroom stars cannot do as their illumination is glow in the dark based which does not have the performance needed to work under such conditions.
Low Power 7-Watt UV Star Ceiling Drivers.
To power my high performance theatre stars I had tested many different black light sources but did not like the cost, complexity and over intense UV that most fixtures emit. After several months of this end phase testing I settled on tiny 7 Watt LED UV drivers that despite using very little power will do an amazing job at powering the stars. This was a very important area for me as I wanted the ability to run an entire small theatre star ceiling with just two of these little lights and limit the amount of free UV in the viewing area.
The large 2 and 4 foot UV tube black lights which are common in theatre rooms are not what I would want to setup and use for myself simply because they throw out far too much regular spectrum light and too little true 365nm blacklight. So after a lot of R&D I established a far higher performance level using the simple and tiny UV drivers. This makes the install and running of the star ceiling incredibly simple by just sliding the theatre stars in place and switching on the drivers which makes them power up like they where electrically connected!
XVR Theater Stars – Simple DIY Home Theatre Star Ceilings.
Although a seemingly simple product these XVR stars are very intricate in production and if you look closely at the faint to mid range stars with magnification you will see just how well they are made. Also unlike my glow in the dark version the operating level of these theater stars is determined by the amount of black light intensity that they are exposed too so you can greatly vary the performance to suit your own personal preference and or the amount of ambient light in the media room.
Side Note: During regular daylight without illumination it is interesting that the stars will still give the look of a night sky on the dark background. This is due to their precision and very low profile however the complexity and life of the star ceiling comes from having low light in the room and the stars correctly illuminated by the UV drivers.
